[verse1] We stood up to see The baby dragon that was near He was carrying Doug's dark blue color Now I could see his cheer [verse2] Doug moved to go to him I said leave your shirt here I will be right behind you He pulled it off as he went down the stair [Bridge] Doug got very close And waited for him to come near Holding his hand out at the ready The baby reacted to his cheer [Chorus] This is our story Where we have achieved The Responsibility needed For a baby for us to receive Our hands filled with care Our hearts filled with light A Partner to each other And the power of our might [verse3] The baby's head touched his hand Then it moved towards him Doug brought him into his arms Then Fully received him [verse4] The dragon form retreated A little baby he now held He turned to look at me with joy And the story his eyes did tell [Bridge] I removed my tunic I joined him on the scene He passed the baby to me In that moment we were serene [Chorus] This is our story Where we have achieved The Responsibility needed For a baby for us to receive Our hands filled with care Our hearts filled with light A Partner to each other And the power of our might [verse5] Our moment was not interrupted But it was shared by others on the scene More family come together Exiled from the dream [verse6] The boys then began to approach I turn so they could see Their little baby cousin Their hearts filled with glee [Bridge] Doug standing beside me One hand on my back The other caressing the baby's head We were finally on track [Chorus] This is our story Where we have achieved The Responsibility needed For a baby for us to receive The boys slowly retreated They could see we were locked in care Doug began to speak I have a name for him would you like to hear [verse7] My eyes answer his question Then he began to tell me I want to name him Calderon I want to name him after Steve [verse8] I said dragon names we do not share But I've come your way We will continue to honor that man I wonder what he will say [Bridge] We did not have to wait long Steve was standing right there Well he's finally come along he said And you are both in good cheer [Chorus] This is our story That on this day We have given him your name Doug began to say Steve smiled at him completely He said it couldn't be any other way Because that is my name I have arrived to you on this day [Outro] Doug's smile was mistaken He hadn't heard him clear I would have to push for it For him to fully hear His eyes on his attention From the baby to the man Brand new to the world And also old as sand His humor led to love For that little yellow bird Where he now stood as a man Needing to be heard I looked at Doug and said Our son has come along Also the man beside us They share the same song A moment of realization A strange look in his eyes Doug was trying to say something But he was overwhelmed with surprise I have now completed my mission Steve began to speak I shall go home now Your company I will no longer seek
