Tudor Rickards’ ‘We Want Peace’ by GM Jon

We want peace, oh yes you bet! It’s just we wont stop fighting, yet As long as we’ve got ammunition  No time to think about malnutrition    What do we want? Peace When do we want it? Now What do we want? Peace When do we want it? Now  It’s all a pointless bloody story leading to conceding territory Hear the growing growling chorus Someone’s got inside his head before us Avoiding any hint of criticism Say things to stroke his narcissism Avoid any clever witticism  Which might get mistaken for criticism. It's time to smoke the pipe of peace Dance a minuet for peace Sing a song, misgivings gag Wave the placards, hug the flag   What do we want Peace When do we want it Now, now, now Repetition sounding grim We like you, so you can’t like him. Watch for glowing coals that wake up Or a chance for a Judas kiss to make up   Now we have to try again Get to walk that narrow line Although it makes a follower’s rear squirm Try to give their leader an ear worm   Summit meetings hours filling Coalition of the willing Ignoring wars in other lands Virtual blood upon our hands Always recall the grim reminder Use a soft touch to stroke a tiger  A single prod will turn it savage Interested in the wedding not the marriage Step by step until you find Who are the prisoners in its mind Can we with their liberation Start to build a better nation? What do we want? Peace When do we want it? Now What do we want? Peace When do we want it? Now What do we want? Peace, What do we want it? Now Peace, When do we want it? Now now now
