[84 BPM] [Contemporary Soul] [Solo British Male Vocal] [Studio Recording] [Intro] [Soft Rhodes] [Fingerpicked acoustic] [Spoken] Sometimes... Love isn't tested... By the easy days... It's revealed... By the difficult ones. [Half-bar silence] [Verse] Some days the shadows fill the room Louder than they ought to be One small moment steals the light From everything we've come to see I could fight another battle Try to prove that I am right Or choose the love we've built together And keep my eyes upon the light [Pre-Chorus] Every heart has hidden weather Every soul bears unseen scars I'm learning not to chase the thunder When I already know our stars [Lift] [Chorus] I will carry OUR load When the road gets hard to climb I'll make the darkness smaller One gentle step at a time I won't let a heavy moment Steal the joy that we've both known Love grows stronger every time We choose not to walk alone [Instrumental] [Verse] Today I finally saw the truth That had always been there to see I thought I knew what love required Till I saw what you'd given me I never saw the quiet moments The worries you never showed You built this life with faithful hands While carrying OUR load [Pre-Chorus] Not because you sought applause Not because love keeps a score You simply gave what love required Then quietly gave some more [Lift] [Background vocal texture] [No words] [Chorus] We'll carry OUR load The way you've carried me Not because we have to now Because today I finally see Every unseen sacrifice Every ordinary day Built a life together, strong enough To never throw away [Instrumental] [Bridge] [Almost spoken] The hardest weight to recognise Was never yours or mine It was all the love made invisible By the passing of our time Nearly three decades together Too beautiful to lose A difficult afternoon Will never write our story The ending... Is ours to choose. [Build] [Background vocal texture] [No words] [Final Chorus] We'll carry OUR load Through every changing season Not because life will be easy But because we've found the reason When one grows tired The other stands Until we're strong again I'll carry yours As you've carried mine Together... We'll carry OUR load [Outro] [Only Rhodes] [Spoken] I thought... I was carrying you... Today... I realised... You've been carrying us... From now on... We'll carry... OUR load.
