Don't Knock Twice

[INTRO — WHISPERED] Shh… Hear that? Three knocks. Don’t open it. [VERSE 1] Three knocks at the door, but nobody came, Cold air in the hallway, whispering my name. Black smoke crawling underneath the frame, Something in the house got a face but no shape. I saw two red eyes when the hallway blinked, Mirror showed a stranger every time I tried to think. He said, “You got one chance, better choose real quick,” I said, “I don’t negotiate with something like this.” Footsteps upstairs, nobody’s home, Phone got no signal, still somebody’s calling my phone. Shadow on the wall moving out of time, I turned around slow— That shadow wasn’t mine. [HOOK] Don’t knock twice, Don’t cross that line. Something in the dark Been waiting all night. Black wings spread When the streetlights die, I hear that voice Every time I close my eyes. [VERSE 2] Red mark on the window, letters on the glass, “Keep running if you think you’re getting past.” I heard a laugh from the room downstairs, Walked down six steps— Nobody was there. Then the door slammed, Lights went black, Something whispered, “Don’t turn back.” I felt that breath Right next to my face, Turned around— Nothing in the place. [PRE-HOOK] I don’t scare easy, I don’t run blind, But whatever’s hunting me Keeps changing its disguise. [HOOK] Don’t knock twice, Don’t cross that line. Something in the dark Been waiting all night. Black wings spread When the streetlights die, I hear that voice Every time I close my eyes. [BRIDGE — HALF-TIME / DISTORTED] You can’t hide. You can’t sleep. You can’t outrun What’s underneath. I heard the floorboards— CRACK. Then a voice said: “I’m already inside.” [FINAL VERSE] Morning came, but the room looked wrong, Every picture on the wall had somebody gone. My front door open, chains still locked, Clock stopped dead at 3:13 on the dot. I walked outside, saw my own silhouette, But it moved before I moved— Now tell me what’s next? [FINAL HOOK — EXPLOSIVE] Don’t knock twice, Don’t cross that line. Something in the dark Been waiting all night. Black wings spread When the streetlights die, If you hear three knocks— Don’t answer this time. [OUTRO — WHISPER] One… Two… Three… Knock.
