FOLDING CHAIR JUBILEE

[Verse 1] Mama stretched the table out Three more boards and prayer Green beans, ribs, and cornbread piled Like nobody would care Word got loose by half past noon Crossed every field and creek By supper time the mailbox had Folks lining up to eat Neighbor Earl came rolling in Before the smoke got high Said, "I smelled that brisket cooking From the county line" [Pre-Chorus] Then the coolers started opening The stories started too Every face from fifty miles Showed up like they always do [Chorus] Bring another folding chair Scoot a little, make some room Somebody's cousin brought three friends And they're eating here too Bring another folding chair That's how we do it round here If you made it to the driveway You're already family, dear Folding Chair Jubilee Folding Chair Jubilee [Verse 2] Aunt Louise told the same old joke Nobody stopped her yet Half the crowd knew every word Still laughed with no regret Kids were dancing in the dirt Dogs negotiating bones Old men arguing football scores Like the game's still on Even them questionable folks With stories best untold Got a plate and got a smile Before the food got cold [Pre-Chorus] When the fiddle starts behaving bad And the moon climbs up on cue You can bet the whole wide county Found something better to do [Chorus] Bring another folding chair Scoot a little, make some room Somebody's cousin brought three friends And they're eating here too Bring another folding chair That's how we do it round here If you made it to the driveway You're already family, dear Folding Chair Jubilee Folding Chair Jubilee [Bridge] Ain't fancy Ain't polished Just a table and a prayer A little steam above the pot And laughter everywhere The richest folks I ever met Didn't have a lot to show Just enough food for one more plate And one more place to go [Fiddle Breakdown] (Hey!) Pass the pie! (Hey!) Move that chair! (Hey!) Who's that guy? Nobody cares! [Final Chorus] Bring another folding chair Scoot a little, make some room The stars are out, the porch light's on And nobody's leaving soon Bring another folding chair That's how we do it round here If you made it to the driveway You're already family, dear Folding Chair Jubilee Folding Chair Jubilee That's the good life Right there in boots Folding Chair Jubilee
