The Events at the Temple of Fire 1

On this day, a great calamity occurred at the Temple of Fire. The power of a fairy named Jen was weakening significantly and was on the verge of fading away. “Jen, stay with me! Jen!” Saladin, the Fire God, was holding the fairy in his arms. He had been enveloping her with his sacred fire for some time, but her strength had not returned. “Why? Why is this happening...?” “Lord Saladin, thank you for all... you’ve done...” “Jen!” The fairy's form vanished in a fleeting moment. “Jen!” “Wah! Why, Jen! Jen!” The surrounding fairies were in deep lamentation, especially Lutiana, who had never witnessed a fairy's death before and was deeply shocked. “Father! Bring Jen back to life!” Lutiana cried and begged Saladin, but he sternly replied, “It’s impossible!” “Why did she die? Why? Why couldn’t we save her?” “Lady Lutiana, Lord Saladin is suffering too.” The other fairies tried to console Lutiana. Jen had been with Saladin for over ten thousand years. Her death was also a deep sorrow for Saladin. “The death of a fairy is unpredictable. And once their time comes, there is no way to stop it.” The hall was engulfed in a deep sadness for a while. One less fairy, and then another... As Saladin let out a deep sigh, the flames in a pot in the hall flared up dramatically. “What?!” Everyone turned their attention to the flames. The fire moved in a circular motion, and suddenly, a boy leapt out of it. Saladin hurriedly caught the child in his arms. “A fairy has been born!” The boy looked like a human child just after birth, with spiky red hair like flames and big red eyes. He had a cute face. “It’s a fairy!” “Amazing, so cute!” Lutiana wiped away her tears. A fairy looking at the boy's back remarked, “There’s a pattern on his back.” Saladin turned the boy around to take a look. To their surprise, a red snake was clinging to the boy's back. “A snake. That’s unusual.” The boy flailed his arms and legs and turned his face to Saladin. “Papa.” Then he opened his mouth and spewed a burst of fire. The flames hit Saladin’s face. It was a surprising event for the fairies and Lutiana. “Hey, you, what are you doing?” “Papa.” The boy smiled and spat fire again. “I told you not to spit fire.” “Papa.” The boy kept spitting fire. Never before had Saladin experienced something like this from a fairy. “Papa, papa.” “I am not your papa.” When Saladin said this, Lutiana asked, “Why?” “Father, you always say that fairies are like your own children.” “Huh? Well, by that logic, I suppose I am this child’s father...” “Papa.” The fairy child was spitting fire continuously from his mouth. “What a strange fairy. Someone, get him some clothes and teach him some manners.” Saladin handed the child to a female fairy.
