Stephen Tranter's Sea Maiden by GM Jon

V5

She comes in lament Or in tempestuous mood Y’know the smile on her face Conceals a latent brood I oversee - the sea maiden Like a hapless gull No way to oppose Her eternal pull Has she been just the same Across all the ages Casting off, gentle froth From all her past rages She can change with the wind With a splash or a sigh Crashing me down Or lifting me high In the morning light She rolls up and unfurls A blanket of blues With sequins of pearls I await her caress And when she arrives Feels like I’ve known her For a thousand lives The swirl of temptation Too strong to resist Drifts my soul away Baptised and kissed Do we all lose ourselves Wise men and fools To explore the depths Of her shimmering jewels? Has she been just the same Across all the ages Casting off, gentle froth From all her past rages She can change with the wind With a splash or a sigh Will she crash me down Or will she lift me high?
