[Verse] If we forgot the name You bear Or bowed to gods that aren’t there Would You not see through the disguise You search the heart You know our cries [Verse 2] For Your sake we’re struck and torn Like sheep for slaughter we’re forlorn Awake O Lord why do You sleep Rise up and save us while we weep [Chorus] Redeem us Lord in steadfast love Your mercy rains from skies above We call Your name through endless pain Awake O Lord and break these chains [Verse 3] Our souls are bowed into the dust In You alone we place our trust Rise up and help us hear our plea Your face alone is all we see [Bridge] Why hide Your face when darkness looms Why leave us in this endless gloom Awake O Lord stretch out Your hand Deliver us by Your command [Chorus] Redeem us Lord in steadfast love Your mercy rains from skies above We call Your name through endless pain Awake O Lord and break these chains
