"The Mirror's Lie (Poiema)."
[Intro] (Slow, filtered drum loop kicks in. A lonely, distorted electric guitar wails in the distance. Low, sub-bass pulse. The atmosphere is thick, like smoke in a room with no windows.) [Verse 1: Dark Christian R&B] Staring at the glass, seeing wreckage in the frame Whispering a eulogy to a forgotten name I’m digging through the debris, looking for a spark But I’m drowning in the "worthless" and I’m choking in the dark I told myself I’m trash, just a product of the fall Buildin' up a prison out of every single fault But every time I spit on the reflection that I see I’m throwing stones at Heaven for the way He fashioned me. [Verse 2: Dark Christian R&B] Yeah, the shadows whisper secrets, say I’m broken past repair That the Maker turned His head and left me gasping for the air They say self-hatred’s holy, like it’s some kind of repent But it’s a sin against the nature of the life that I was lent If I’m made in His image, then I’m cursing at the King When I tell Him that His handiwork don't mean a single thing The Gospel ain't a gavel, no, it’s blood bought and it’s deep But I’ve been sowing shame and that’s the harvest that I reap. [Pre-Chorus] (The beat starts to build. A heavy rock snare cracks through the R&B haze. The tension rises.) The condemnation’s heavy, but the Grace is getting loud There’s a silver lining burning through this suffocating cloud... I’m reaching for the truth, I’m breaking every chain 'Cause the blood didn't wash me just to leave me in the rain! [Chorus: Heavy Country Rock] I am a Poiema—a masterpiece of gold! Written by the Finger that made the stars of old! I ain't a mistake, I ain't a mess of "maybe" I’m a temple of the Spirit, let the truth drive 'em crazy! He didn't die for trash, He died for what was worth the cost The victory is screaming from the shadow of the Cross! I’m fearfully and wonderfully—stronger than the thunder A divine design that the world can’t pull under! [Verse 3: Upbeat Country Rap] (The tempo shifts. The bass is punchy, acoustic guitars are strumming fast, and the energy is infectious. Think Kane Brown flow with a rock edge.) Check the rhythm, check the pulse, yeah the heart’s beating fast I’m leaving all that "worthless" talk buried in the past! Walking with a swagger 'cause I know whose kid I am Redeemed by the Lion, protected by the Lamb Genesis 1:27—read the script, it’s the truth I’m the image of the Maker from my spirit to my youth No more self-sabotage, no more sleeping in the dirt I’m trading in my ashes for the healing of the hurt! [Verse 4: Upbeat Country Rap] I’m a work in progress, yeah, but look at the design The sunset in my spirit and the morning in my mind I’m honoring the temple, yeah I’m taking care of "me" 'Cause loving what He created is the way to set me free! Healthy love is flowing out to everybody else You can’t love your neighbor if you’re hating on yourself So I’m standing in the sunlight, let the haters see the glow I’m a masterpiece in motion—and I’m putting on a show! [Bridge] (Music drops out to just a heavy, rhythmic stomp and clap. Raw, soulful vocals.) He said: "It is finished." He said: "You are Mine." He said: "Stop the killing of the life I made divine." (Guitars explode back in—full wall of sound) It’s not arrogance to love the soul He saved! It’s the only way to live since He walked out of the grave! [Guitar/Instrumental Break] (A screaming, bluesy Outlaw Country solo. High energy, lots of bends and grit. Think a mix of Southern Rock and modern Heavy Country.) [Outro] (The rock settles into a solid, rhythmic groove. Fading out.) No more lies in the mirror. Just the truth in the Word. I’m a masterpiece... yeah, you heard what you heard. Poiema. Workmanship. Divine intention. Amen.
