Letters to Santa

[Verse 1] Up at the North Pole, the snow’s falling deep, Elves are wide awake when they should be asleep. Stacks on stacks of envelopes climb to the sky, Somewhere underneath them there’s a jolly old guy. He rubs his eyes and lets out a chuckle, Buried in a mountain of ribbon and muffle— Another wishlist, another sweet plea, Another “Santa, are you still thinking of me?” [Chorus 1] 'Cause he gets letters by the millions, Every December day. From tiny tots with glitter pens To grown-ups far away. It’s a magical kind of overload, A blizzard made of dreams untold— But Santa reads every single one, With a heart of solid gold. [Verse 2] Paper planes of wonder fly in from the world, Some drawn in crayons, some carefully curled. He laughs when he sees one from someone aged thirty-three: “Dear Santa, I still hope you haven’t forgotten me.” The elves bring cocoa to get him through the piles, He answers every letter with patience and smiles. The room keeps spinning with wishes and cheer, But he says, “This is my favorite time of the year.” [Chorus 2] Even when the stacks get taller Than the candy cane factory roof, He keeps on reading lovingly— That’s the honest-to-goodness truth. From the littlest dreamers learning to write To the grown-up hearts who still hold on tight— Santa loves every child on earth, Whether young or old in life. [Bridge] So if you’re worried your letter Might get lost in the shuffle, Don’t you fret—he’s tougher than That peppermint kerfuffle. He’s got magic in his mittened hands And kindness in his eyes, You’re never too old for Santa Claus— He’ll always recognize. [Outro] So send your Christmas wishes On a starry winter night; He’ll find them in the snowdrifts By the glow of candlelight. No matter what your age is, Your heart is all he sees— Santa’s love is timeless, Just like the Christmas breeze.
