Even Still, My Hope Is In The Lord
My heart is a heart that dreams and then does, That hopes for the best, but has experienced the worst. A heart that loves deeply, and when crushed, struggles to breathe, But yet takes a breath and fights to take that first step forward, After a night or weekend or longer of crying my soul out to God, Asking for Him to carry me with His strength because the valley is so dark and painful. Happiness and hopes that once gleamed are dashed to pieces in the valley. Dreams that once were a bright flame die to a flicker then gasp in a silent smoky wisp. Sorrow and sadness and tangible gloom shrouds like a cold, wet, musty blanket. Yet there is light on the mountain top! And I can catch a faint glimpse from here in the valley. And though I feel such numbness and an empty vacuum in my heart where dreams and hopes once resided, I know that Your promises are true! You will never leave me or forsake me! You have a plan and a purpose that I cannot see through these tear-brimmed eyes. You are the lifter of my head and are all that I need! My hope, O Lord my God, is in You!
