V3.5

The original song was released on April 5, 2024 : https://suno.com/song/752a494f-746a-4568-bfee-88a333c5b6bc I had completely forgotten about this song. I wrote it shortly after I lost a good friend. I intentionally made the original upbeat. It was the only way to cope with the creation process. <--Many thanks to @Rynaux and @pseunoNYmous for making this song what it is now--> Somehow, this was always how it was meant to be. Thank you guys. This means a lot to me. ----------------------------------------------------------- [Verse 1] I walk these streets with a smile that's fake Hiding tears like the rain in a stormy wake Each step I take, feels like a high stake In a game of life, where there's no break [Pre-Chorus] They say I'm just bad, but inside I'm just sad In this concrete jungle, where good turns to bad [Hook] I'm just a kid from the block, with a heart turned to rock Where dreams are fleeting, and the doors all lock Grew up fast, 'cause the streets don't talk They just echo my fears, and the hard knocks [Verse 2] Behind these eyes, lies a story untold Of a heart that's young but feels so old In the cold, where warmth is bought and sold I hold onto dreams, that I can't fold [Pre-Chorus] I'm labeled as lost, but at what cost? In this life of frost, where lines are crossed [Bridge 1] In the quiet of the dusk, I feel the weight of the crown Of being the king of nothing, in a rundown town [Hook] I'm just a kid from the block, with a heart turned to rock Where dreams are fleeting, and the doors all lock Grew up fast, 'cause the streets don't talk They just echo my fears, and the hard knocks [Verse 3] I've seen too much, for these young eyes Broken promises, and grown-up lies The cries, that rise from the street's demise Become lullabies, as part of me dies [Bridge 2] So I'll sketch my pain on the canvas of night Turn my plight into a beacon of light [Hook] I'm just a kid from the block, with dreams in my sock Where the night whispers hope, and the hard times unlock Grew up fast, 'cause the streets don't talk But they teach you to rise, like the dawn on a clock
