V5.5

Pulled in thinking... This the one. Last year this place was quiet. Stars out. Coffee still warm. Dog slept through the whole night. Beautiful. ... Missed it by an hour. Apparently time zones got a sense of humor. Now I'm parked behind seventeen semis. One refrigerator trailer. Some dude arguing with a vending machine. Progress. Dog hops out... Looks around... Immediately decides... Nah. Fair. Store smelled like burnt coffee and windshield washer fluid. Bought a burrito. Pretty sure it qualified as an engineering project. Cashier looked exhausted. Can't blame her. Whole building looked tired. Walking back... Thought I saw the cashier hop into an eighteen wheeler. ... Brain said... Nah. You're making stories again. Eat the burrito. Reflective heels. Company picnic. Benefits package. This whole business model appeared outta nowhere. Dog just looking at me like... Can we pee and leave? Thought about moving the bus. Neighborhood seemed... Active. Then it hit me. Nobody stealing a bus... With that much security walking around. Honestly... Probably the safest parking lot in three counties. Locked the door anyway. Mostly because it felt polite. Went to bed. Heard air brakes. Somebody dropped a trailer. Dog snored so loud, he's dreaming He's Probably still running logistics for... Lizard Dispatch Incorporated. Sometimes... The trip isn't the weird part. It's the commentary.
