Vocals provided via my voice recording. A poem 🙂🌸 I think we get beauty wrong sometimes. We keep looking for things that belong together, like matching is somehow the point. Same colors. Same shapes. Same energy. Everything agreeing with everything else. But I don’t know. I think there’s something beautiful about being able to tell where one thing ends and another begins. About difference being allowed to stay different. Because contrast doesn’t ruin either side. It gives both of them definition. You notice quiet differently after something loud. Warmth means more when you remember being cold. Gentleness hits different when you know how hard something can be. Even people. Sometimes the thing that makes someone beautiful isn’t how perfectly everything about them fits together. It’s the contradiction. Soft where you expected hard. Certain about one thing, completely lost about another. A little strange. A little inconsistent. Human. Maybe beauty needs some resistance. Something beside it that makes you stop and actually notice what you’re looking at. Because if everything blended perfectly, eventually you wouldn’t see any of it. And maybe that’s what I love about contrast. Neither side has to become the other. They just have to exist honestly enough to make each other visible.
