Melting Clockwork
The clocks are melting… and so am I… I woke up inside a painting where the colors learned to scream Trees grew upside down and whispered secrets to the stream My shadow left without me, dancing on the bedroom wall While time folded into origami, too heavy, too small The ceiling dripped like honey made of yesterday’s regret Birds flew backward singing songs that I haven’t heard yet I reached for my reflection but she smiled and walked away Left me holding empty mirrors made of yesterday Melting clockwork in my veins, ticking backwards through the pain Hours turn to butterflies and fly out of my brain I’m dissolving into starlight, becoming something strange In this surreal forever, nothing ever stays the same Gravity got lazy, forgot which way was down So I floated through the kitchen wearing yesterday’s crown The fridge sang opera while the milk turned into wine And every memory I lost was standing in a line I am the echo… I am the crack… The space between the seconds… never going back… Melting clockwork spinning wild inside my chest Turning minutes into rivers, turning rivers into rest I’m the dream that learned to walk and the walker made of smoke In this beautiful disaster… I have finally awoke The clocks are melting… And so… am… I…
