I wake up with a war inside, A thousand thoughts I cannot hide. I smile like everything’s okay, Then lose myself by end of day. I’m fine, I’m fine, that’s what I say, But somehow it gets harder every day. My mind keeps running out of track, I wish I knew how to turn it back. I hate the way my feelings change, One minute close, the next feels strange. I overthink the smallest things, And give my fears a voice and wings. I’m fine, I’m fine, I say it again, Like maybe saying it will make it end. But underneath the words I hide, There’s a girl just trying to feel alright. Some days I laugh until I cry, Some days I don’t know reasons why. I’m learning I don’t have to know, I can take my time and grow. I’m fine, I’m fine, maybe someday, I’ll say it and actually feel that way. Until then, I’ll take it slow, I’m more than what my mind makes me know. So if my head gets way too loud, I’ll find my way back through the clouds. I’m still here, still figuring out— Maybe that’s what healing’s about.
