Picture... Spirit. What did you see? Light? A cloud? Energy? A figure? Nothing? Whatever... You pictured... Had an appearance. So... Was that... Spirit? Or was that... Your mind... Giving form... To something... Formless? Try again. Picture... Something... That cannot... Be pictured. Interesting... Isn't it? Now... Listen again... To the words. God... Is Spirit. And God said... "Let us make man... In our image... After our likeness." Image... Of Spirit. What would... That image... Look like? Perhaps... That question... Contains... A problem. [Pause] We hear... Image... And immediately... Think... Appearance. A face. A shape. A reflection. Something... Visible. But if the Original... Is Spirit... Why would... Its image... Have to be... Something... The eye... Can see? What if... We have been... Looking for... The image of God... In the wrong place? We look... At faces. Bodies. Skin. Male. Female. Young. Old. And say... There... Is humanity. But all of those... Are visible. And God... Is Spirit. So what... Do human beings... Share... That cannot... Be photographed? Life? Awareness? Being? The silent... I AM? Don't choose... One. The moment... You choose... You've made... Another definition. Just notice... Something Every human face... Is different. Every body... Is different. Every name... Is different. Every story... Is different. Yet before... Every name... Someone says... I AM. I AM Brian. I AM Mary. I AM rich. I AM poor. I AM young. I AM old. Everything... After... I AM... Changes. What about... I AM? Before... The description... Before... The identity... Before... The picture... There is... Being. Could the image... Of the Invisible... Be invisible... Too? Could the likeness... Of Spirit... Be something... A mirror... Could never show? And if so... Perhaps the question... Isn't... What does... The image of Spirit... Look like? [Pause] Perhaps... The deeper question... Is... What does... The image of Spirit... Feel like... From the inside? Right now... Before you answer... There is... Something... Here. Alive. Aware. Being. Don't name it. Don't picture it. Just... Notice...
