What Remains of Us

STUDIO

I kept replaying how it all began, I still turn for your street out of habit. Every little moment felt unbroken then, every answer sounded easy, you and I. But even promises grow quiet with the time, the story slowly shifting, losing all its shine. I tried to hold the whole world we had built, but pieces kept on falling, quiet, one by one. Maybe we never saw the signs, maybe we dreamed too far ahead? I thought love would stay the way we always knew. But comfort shifts and bends when two people grow. Still I kept on hoping, (oh, oh) long after the fall. Wasn't trying to lose it, just needed to find my voice. Maybe silence taught me, maybe distance was the choice. Turned to strangers, slowly, living scared, unseen. Our chore chart's still on the fridge, both our names, same old routine. Maybe we moved in different time, maybe our rhythm fell apart? Love isn't saved by holding on. (mm, yeah) Not when the cracks already show. We kept painting over questions we were never meant to solve. I wasn't leaving out of anger, I just needed room to grow. We held on through the quiet seasons tried to meet where light was thin and when the truth arrived it wasn't gentle but it's where new things begin we're not ending with a whisper we're not breaking into blame we're just learning how to carry what remains without the shame So here we stand with clearer eyes, not the story we once planned. Sometimes losing what we wanted makes room for something new. Still we stand. Though we walk in different skies, some part of us remains. Not goodbye, just letting go. Still turning down your street.
