[Verse 1] The sea came in black with a blade in its mouth Gaza shook awake from the north wind's growl Ashkelon on its knees at the edge of the dust No one stops the flood when the iron starts to rust Hands on the wall eyes full of flame You called it a storm but it knew your name [Pre-Chorus] Hear that rumble under the stone The old fear wakes and it drags you home [Chorus] Ash on Ashkelon falling, falling down Ash on Ashkelon dust in every mouth The blade is here the tide won't turn around Ash on Ashkelon burn it to the ground [Verse 2] Chariots cry through the cracked-up gate Mothers pull the kids from the market late The harbor goes still like a held-back scream The priests lose their words in a fever dream You traded your thunder for a dead man's gold Now the shore says back what the ruins told [Pre-Chorus] Hear that rumble under the stone The old fear wakes and it drags you home [Chorus] Ash on Ashkelon falling, falling down Ash on Ashkelon dust in every mouth The blade is here the tide won't turn around Ash on Ashkelon burn it to the ground [Bridge] And I feel that warning in my ribs tonight Not a myth, not a story just a line of fire When the wind writes verdicts on the broken sand Every proud roof trembles in an unseen hand [Final Chorus] Ash on Ashkelon falling, falling down Ash on Ashkelon dust in every mouth The blade is here the tide won't turn around Ash on Ashkelon burn it to the ground Ash on Ashkelon falling, falling down Ash on Ashkelon dust in every mouth
