[Sound Effect: Loud Crowd Cheering and Applause] [Spoken Intro over faint chords] [spoken]Hello everyone! WOW, look at this crowd tonight! You know, Christmas is usually about presents... But sometimes, things go wrong before they go right. Has anyone here ever fallen in love in the most unexpected way? Yeah? Well, this story is for you. Let's go! 1, 2, 3, 4!" [/spoken] [Intro] [Upbeat festive drums and sleigh bells kick in] [spoken] ¨Yeah, yeah... woo! It’s that time of year again... let’s go!¨[/spoken] [Verse 1] Started on a Friday, the darkest of the week Crowded in the store, I could hardly speak Saw that perfect gift, sitting on the shelf Thinking to myself: "I need that for myself." But then you came around, grabbed the other end We were tugging on the box, unwilling to bend You shouted at me loud, fire in your eyes I didn’t back down, much to your surprise. We were fighting for a toaster, or was it a toy? But the spark that we felt brought a different kind of joy. [Chorus] [harmonies] In the middle of the madness, running through the snow When the world is going crazy and the pressure starts to grow Yeah, everything went wrong, but it turned out right Standing next to you by the Christmas tree light. Through the shopping and the rush Found the greatest love of all, in a Christmas crush! [Verse 2] Fast forward two weeks, down at the skating rink Wanted to impress you, didn’t stop to think Tried a triple axel, tried to look so cool Lost my balance fast, looking like a fool! Hit the ice hard, heard a nasty snap Lying on my back, took a little nap. Woke up in the siren’s sound, flashing lights of blue Looking at the doctor... wait, it was you? You fixed my broken arm, put it in a cast Now I know this love is really built to last. [Chorus] [harmonies] In the middle of the madness, running through the snow When the world is going crazy and the pressure starts to grow Yeah, everything went wrong, but it turned out right Standing next to you by the Christmas tree light. Through the pain and through the rush Found the greatest love of all, in a Christmas crush! [Bridge] It’s funny how fate works in mysterious ways Open up your heart during holidays Magic in the air, makes you take a chance Turning accidents into a real romance Love is all we need, it’s the only thing that matters... Yeah! [Guitar Solo] [Muziek wordt rustiger] [Overgang naar solozang] [Chorus] [Solo] [Crowd singing] In the middle of the madness, running through the snow When the world is going crazy and the pressure starts to grow Yeah, everything went wrong, but it turned out right Standing next to you by the Christmas tree light. (By the Christmas liiiiight!) Through the shopping and the rush Found the greatest love of all... Yeah, my Christmas crush. [crescendo] [Pre-outro] [Harmonies] Through the shopping and the rush Found the greatest love of all... Yeah, my Christmas crush. [Outro] Still got the receipt though. Merry Christmas, baby. Crash into Christmas [fade out, crowd sounds]
