[Verse 1] The spectacular story of Sparky It's the stuff of great movies and books The story's too long for only one song And I've got pictures, come here take a look [Verse 2] Because what's special about Sparky? Well, it's something you just gotta see See how he clears that wall, 28 inches tall To chase a cat up a tree [Verse 3] And Sparky doesn't stop there, that cat she better beware 'Cause he climbs and he climbs real good But kitty's got claws and Sparky's only got paws Still he, he climbs and climbs till he falls in the wood [Verse 4] And I swear I saw that cat laughing Well, that cat she better watch her step 'Cause she just got on his list and that dog he'll persist You better bet he ain't done with her yet [Verse 5] Now there's only one problem with Sparky He likes to viciously kill what he's caught Now I think hunting's fun, I love the chase for the run But what happens next, well that's not [Verse 6] Rats and vermin, now they've got it coming And that cat can climb higher than he But I knew it would happen, someday he'd catch that cat napping She wouldn't get to her tree [Verse 7] Well, that day came last fall, I heard the poor kitty call And I ran just as fast as I could I shouted no, but Sparky wouldn't let go So we played a game that he understood [Verse 8] Now Sparky he don't give up easy And tug-o-war it's his favorite game But I'm still better at that, so I saved the cat But you know she'll never walk quite the same
