[Instrumental Intro – Bright acoustic country-folk groove] [Chorus – Warm, joyful, confident] I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. I've been young, and now I'm old And still it can be said; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. [Verse – Flowing acoustic folk, gentle piano] The steps of a righteous man Are ordered by the Lord, Because he walks not in his own way, But according to the Word. Even when he falls, he will rise again, His steps will be established, For God is holding to his hand. [Chorus – Fuller harmonies] I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. I've been young, and now I'm old And still it can be said; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. [Instrumental Break – Melodic acoustic guitar and piano] [Final Chorus – Joyful three-part harmonies] I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. I've been young, and now I'm old And still it can be said; I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed out begging for bread. [Outro – Strong acoustic ending] I've never seen the righteous forsaken!
