Dissent Isn't a Crime

V6

ntro] Why you calling something evil Just because I don't believe? Is morality yours to own, Or is it something we perceive? Yeah— Question everything. Don't confuse disagreement with a crime. [Verse 1] Why do you think if I don't follow, I'm corrupt? If I question your religion, why you saying I'm messed up? If your truth is really truth, why you scared of being tested? If the answer can't survive a question, was it ever really tested? You say, “Follow the path,” I say, “Show me where it leads.” You say, “Trust the Word,” I say, “Let me fucking read.” You say, “That's evil,” I say, “Explain it to me.” Don't just point at the book— Tell me why I should believe. [Pre-Chorus] Is it wrong because it's harmful? Is it wrong because it's cruel? Or is it wrong because your doctrine Says I'm breaking your rules? If morality needs a threat Just to keep me in line, Then I'm questioning the system, Not just questioning your mind. [Chorus] Why you think if nobody follows What you believe, they're evil? Why disagreement turn into “Something's wrong with these people”? If your faith is strong, Why fear somebody asking why? Why does doubt become rebellion? Why does questioning divide? Why you think your way Is the only way to live? If I don't accept your answer, Does that mean I'm counterfeit? I'm not asking you to change— I'm asking you to explain. If your truth can't face a question, Why should I accept the claim? [Verse 2] I don't need another sermon Telling me what I should fear. I need reasons, I need evidence, I need something sincere. Everybody's got a doctrine, Everybody's got a side, Everybody believes they're right When they're looking through their eyes. Different books, different prophets, Different cultures, different names. Everybody drawing boundaries, Everybody making claims. So before you call me wicked, Maybe stop and ask yourself: Did you choose this belief freely, Or inherit it from somebody else? [Beat Switch] 808 hit— Now the questions getting louder. Bass shake— But the doubt getting prouder. No hate— I'm just ripping through the script. If the answer's really solid, Why you scared that I might flip? [Verse 3] You can tell me I'm mistaken, You can tell me I'm confused. But disagreement isn't evil Just because you feel accused. You can live inside your faith, I can walk another road. We don't have to turn our difference Into something we unload. What's the difference between A moral truth and a command? Does something become good Because somebody says it should? If morality exists outside us, Then explain where it begins. If it's only based on power, Then who's deciding who's the sin? [Chorus] Why you think if nobody follows What you believe, they're evil? Why disagreement turn into “Something's wrong with these people”? If your faith is strong, Why fear somebody asking why? Why does doubt become rebellion? Why does questioning divide? Why you think your way Is the only way to live? If I don't accept your answer, Does that mean I'm counterfeit? I'm not asking you to change— I'm asking you to explain. If your truth can't face a question, Why should I accept the claim? [Bridge] Maybe faith should face the fire. Maybe doubt can make you wiser. Maybe questioning the doctrine Doesn't make somebody vile. Maybe truth doesn't need A threat hanging over your head. Maybe people find their morals Without fearing they'll be condemned. So don't tell me I'm your enemy Because I don't see what you see. Don't confuse your certainty With universal reality. You can keep your sacred symbols, You can keep your holy ground. Just don't tell me I'm immoral Simply because I won't bow. [Final Verse] I'm not here to burn your church, I'm not here to steal your faith. I'm here asking bigger questions About the rules that people make. If belief gives you purpose, Then I hope it gives you peace. But don't demand that everybody Must believe the same beliefs. Because a question isn't violence, And dissent isn't a crime. Someone challenging your worldview Doesn't mean they're crossing lines. If your God is truly sovereign, Why would questions make Him weak? If the truth is really timeless, Why be terrified to speak? [Outro] So answer me— Not with fear. Not with threats. Not with “because the Bible says so.” Tell me why. Why is disagreement evil? Why is doubt a moral stain? Why must everybody follow Just to prove that they're the same? I'm asking. Not because I hate you— Because I want to understand. And if your truth is really truth... It shouldn't be afraid Of a question.
