Yet again, I’m winding down As the stars are twinkling high I stumble toward my bedroom To bid the waking world bye-bye Just before I hit my pillow I can't even close my eyes Who lies seductive in my bed? The muse that only comes at night. (Two o’clock) I can be tired tomorrow… And the Muse approves (fifteen) As the Muse watches me (thirty) And the Muse again, Has kept me up ‘til 3… Like a zombie all work day From that creation in twilight But convinced, I carry on I’ll get some sleep tonight!
