Channel 9: Unscheduled Broadcast

[Intro] [Station Computer | Neutral Synthetic | Emotionless | Precise] Channel Nine automation active. Scheduled programming interrupted. Incoming transmission detected. Relay request accepted. Forwarding... [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical | Low steady voice] Hold on... Who authorized an override on Channel Nine? [Jacques | Male | Brazen | Confident | Slight sarcastic edge] Not me. Nothing was scheduled. [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Curious | Warm thoughtful tone] Then why is every monitor switching over? [Verse 1] [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Curious | Warm melodic tone] Midnight filled the control room Nothing out of place Just another quiet evening Running at our pace Then a picture found the monitors Brighter than before Like someone opened up a window No one saw a door [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical | Low steady voice] No station identification. No broadcast authorization. No source address. [Jacques | Male | Brazen | Confident | Slight sarcastic edge] So... Either we're haunted... Or engineering's buying breakfast. [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical] I prefer explanations supported by data. [Pre-Chorus] [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Thoughtful | Soft melodic] Every answer fades away Every question grows Something found our airwaves... Nobody knows... [Chorus] [Laizer Beam | Female | Hopeful | Emotional | Strong melodic] Channel Nine... Unscheduled broadcast Calling through the night A signal without warning Burning clear and bright Searching for an answer Reading every sign Who found our world... Through Channel Nine? [Verse 2] [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical] Running language analysis. [Station Computer | Neutral Synthetic | Emotionless | Precise] French... Confidence... Twenty-eight percent. Dutch... Twenty-three percent. German... Nineteen percent. Classification... Unknown. [Jacques | Male | Brazen | Dry humor] That's the computer's way of saying... "I've got no idea." [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Curious | Warm melodic] Maybe every language Starts as something strange Maybe every mystery Needs a different frame [Bridge] [Station Computer | Neutral Synthetic | Precise] Recurring terms detected. Amber... Agie... Unable to translate. [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical] Interesting... The translator marked them as proper names. [Jacques | Male | Brazen | Curious] So whoever they are... They keep introducing themselves. [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Thoughtful] No... I think they're introducing... Each other. [Final Chorus] [Laizer Beam | Female | Emotional | Hopeful | Powerful melodic] Channel Nine... Unscheduled broadcast Drifting through the sky A story with no origin No reason why We'll trace every signal We'll follow every line Until we learn... Who called... Channel Nine... [Outro] [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical] Recovered routing vector. Arrival direction... Northeast orbital corridor. [Jacques | Male | Brazen | Confident] European satellites? [Bammer | Male | Stern | Analytical] Negative. That's only where our system intercepted it. Not where it originated. [Station Computer | Neutral Synthetic | Emotionless | Precise] Relay complete. Forwarding successful. [Laizer Beam | Female | Calm | Quiet | Thoughtful] Forwarding... To where? [Transmission Lost]
