πΆ Song 154 β Beyond the Praise of Men
Paper 154 β Last Days at Capernaum πΆ Song: Beyond the Praise of Men (Introduction) In Capernaum the shadows grew, The crowds grew less, the faithful few. Yet Jesus walked the Father's way, No fear of night, no need for praise. (Verse 1 β A Week of Counsel) The many left, the few remained, Through loss and doubt their faith was trained. No king of earth, no throne of gold, A kingdom living in the soul. (Verse 2 β The Synagogues Closed) The rulers shut the synagogue door, Yet truth could spread forevermore. No wall could stop the Father's light, The spirit shines beyond men's might. (Verse 3 β A Week of Rest) "Go fish and pray, refresh your heart, For troubled souls must heal in part." The Master knew that faith grows best, When work is joined with sacred rest. (Verse 4 β Lessons Through Suffering) Nathaniel sick and James in pain, Yet Jesus did not break life's chain. For souls mature through trials faced, And wisdom often grows through haste. (Verse 5 β Herod and the Kingdom) Some in Herod's court could see, This kingdom sought no monarchy. No sword was raised, no rebels came, Just Father's love in Jesus' name. (Verse 6 β The Voices of Capernaum) Some called Him mad, some called Him lost, Some feared the challenge and the cost. But few could see the truth so clear, The Son of God was standing near. (Verse 7 β His Family Arrives) His mother came with anxious eyes, His brothers burdened by disguise. They feared the shame, they feared the fight, Yet Ruth alone upheld the light. (Verse 8 β Who Is My Family?) "Who are my brothers? Who is kin? Those who let the Father in. Those who choose His holy way, My family are they today." (Verse 9 β The Pain of Being Misunderstood) Mary wept and hearts were torn, A sorrowful and human morn. Yet Jesus loved them just the same, Though they could not yet know His aim. (Verse 10 β The Hasty Flight) Across the lake He sailed away, Beginning now the final way. No earthly home remained in sight, Only the Father's truth and light. (Bridge β Faith Beyond Approval) When crowds depart and friends grow few, The Father's will must still shine through. Not praise of men nor worldly fame, But faithful hearts that bear His name. (Chorus) Beyond the praise of men He stood, Serving only what was good. Though misunderstood and left alone, The Father's love remained His home. The kingdom grows in hearts set free, Not by power, but loyalty. Through loss and trial, faith shall endure, The Father's will forever sure. (Finale) Capernaum faded far behind, Yet truth remained for all mankind. The crowds were gone, the mission clear, The kingdom of the Father was near.
