This song was born from a short poem written from a child’s perspective, found somewhere on the vast internet. It struck a chord in my heart for two reasons. First, I can deeply relate to the child’s feelings. Second, I simply love animals. I can imagine the child’s emotions because I’ve been in a similar situation myself. As a kid, I went through something like this, and I’ve never forgotten it. My aunt (we were living together as a big family back then) got a kitten. A year passed, the kitten grew up, and suddenly my aunt decided she had a severe allergy (sure, like it wasn’t obvious from the start). My grandmother—her mother—took the poor cat, who had never once been outside, and carried him in a bag far from our home to some rundown private houses. There, she just abandoned him, and the poor thing crawled into some hole. “It’s fine, someone will take him in,” my grandmother said. I’ll never forget his eyes. Most likely, he didn’t survive. >----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Intro] [Female spoken word with tearful sobs] Fluffy... where are you, my little one?.. [Emotional Verse] Last night Dad said "Allergies’re driving me mad". Then he just left, taking away my cat. I loved my Fluffy, fed him through and through. I saved my allowance for his flea shampoo. [Pre-Chorus] He disappeared and nothing remained, Only this silence that drives me insane. [Heart-rending Chorus] Oh, my Fluffy, my bestie, where’d you go? They took you away, but where... I don’t know. Dad’s already sleeping, he just doesn’t care. I’m crying alone, why’re adults so unfair? [Emotional Verse] He was the sweetest, slept in his bed, Used his litter box, purred near my head. But Dad always did whatever he wanted. My cat is gone now, and I feel so haunted. [Instrumental Solo] [Female spoken word, desperate cry] Dad, no! [Female spoken word, desperate cry] I said, my cat will stay with me! [Spoken Bridge] I wanted to bounce, didn’t wanna believe, But Dad locked me in, said I couldn’t leave. He swore Fluffy’s fine, things aren’t that bad. But Dad, I’m not stupid, you’re full of it, Dad. [Final Heartbreaking Chorus] Oh, my Fluffy, my bestie, where’d you go? They took you away, but where... I don’t know. Dad’s already sleeping, he just doesn’t care. I’m crying alone, why’re adults so unfair? [Outro] Dad’s sleeping, his snoring’s shaking the place. He feels amazing now that Fluffy’s erased. I’m stuck in my dumb room. I’m crying alone, Allergic to Dad. This doesn’t feel like home Anymore... [Fade Out]
