[Hook:] I've gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… Tryna do my job, but he’s holdin’ me back… I've gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… No decision’s mine, man, that’s just a fact… [Verse 1:] Show up to the site, got boots on the ground, Contractors askin’, but I just look down… Blueprints in my hand, I should give the go, But if I make a call, man, I’m out the door. I see delays stackin’, costs runnin’ wild, Sac Weir’s stuck, like a lost little child. They say, “Hey C-O-R, what’s the move today?” I shake my head, man, what can I say? [Pre-Hook:] Yo, I wish I had the power, wish I had the slack, But every single question, man, I… [Hook:] Gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… Tryna do my job, but he’s holdin’ me back… I've gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… No decision’s mine, man, that’s just a fact… [Verse 2:] Big boss callin’, “Yo, what’s the delay?” Man, I’d love to tell you, but what can I say? We sittin’ on our hands, while the bill stack high, Million-dollar overrun, watch it touch the sky. The crew's gettin’ restless, work's fallin’ behind, I swear I could fix it, if they'd just let me sign. But I make a move? Man, Zack’s on my neck, "Why’d you take action? That ain’t correct!" [Pre-Hook:] Yo, I got the knowledge, I got the tact, But every single question, man, I… [Hook:] Gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… Tryna do my job, but he’s holdin’ me back… I've gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… No decision’s mine, man, that’s just a fact… [Bridge:] Every damn meeting, same old track, "Let me run it up the chain, I’ll get right back." Week goes by, then another and another, By the time we get an answer, we buried in clutter. [Verse 3:] They call it oversight, I call it a joke, How we gonna build when the process is broke? I should be the rep, I should lead the way, Instead, I just echo whatever Zack say. Sac Weir’s draggin’, folks losin’ their minds, And I’m stuck in limbo, trapped in the grind. But one day, man, I’ll break from this track, Till then, you know the drill—I… [Hook:] Gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… Tryna do my job, but he’s holdin’ me back… I've gotta check with Zack, gotta check with Zack… No decision’s mine, man, that’s just a fact… [Outro:] Yeah… stuck in a loop, Sac Weir stalled, whole crew in a snooze… One day I’ll rise, break free from the trap, But for now… I got to check with Zack… [End Beat] [End]
