LIFT UP MY HEAD (Psalm 3 Gospel House Anthem) INTRO Hey! When trouble comes— Lift up your head! When the pressure’s on— Lift up your head! When they count you out— Lift up your head! Come on! HOOK Lift up my head! The Lord is my shield! Lift up my head! His promises are real! Lift up my head! I know He hears my cry! Lift up my head! My help is from on high! Hey! Lift up my head! The Lord is my shield! Lift up my head! His promises are real! No matter what they said, The Lord lifts up my head! VERSE 1 How many rise against me? How many speak my name? How many say I’m finished? How many bring me shame? They say, “God won’t help her.” They say, “She’s all alone.” But they don’t know the God I serve, Or the power of His throne. PRE-CHORUS I cried unto the Lord. He heard my prayer. I cried unto the Lord. And He met me there. I cried unto the Lord. He made a way. That’s why I came to praise! HOOK Lift up my head! The Lord is my shield! Lift up my head! His promises are real! Lift up my head! I know He hears my cry! Lift up my head! My help is from on high! VERSE 2 I laid down and slept. I woke up strong. Not because the battle ended, But because God carried me along. The same God Who watched through the night. The same God Who’s still in the fight. The same God Who never fails. The same God Who always prevails. PRE-CHORUS Ten thousand around me. Still not afraid. Ten thousand against me. Still giving Him praise. Ten thousand surrounding me. Still standing tall. Because my God is greater than them all. HOOK Lift up my head! The Lord is my shield! Lift up my head! His promises are real! Lift up my head! I know He hears my cry! Lift up my head! My help is from on high! BREAKDOWN Shield around me! Shield around me! Shield around me! Every day! Favor on me! Favor on me! Favor on me! All the way! Shield around me! Favor on me! Mercy on me! Grace upon me! BRIDGE Arise, O Lord! Fight my battles! Arise, O Lord! Make my pathway! Arise, O Lord! Show Your power! Arise, O Lord! This is Your hour! Salvation belongs to the Lord!
