[verse] That girl chose me, a 12-year-old accomplice. Fragile, as if she might break at any moment. “Fix the mistakes I made — secretly rewrite them as correct answers, okay?” [drop] I couldn’t say no, so I mimicked the way she wrote her numbers. “Want me to do yours too?” she asked. I shook my head in fear — that was the one thing I couldn’t do. [chorus] Tiny soldiers fighting with their pens, stepping on the feet ahead with smiling faces. We can’t return to being children until the war called entrance exams is over. [verse] Soon I got used to it, grading each other’s papers day after day. Every time I rewrote her wrong answers as correct ones, it felt like we were becoming best friends. [drop] But one day, on my own test, my correct answers were rewritten as mistakes by her hand. With a smile she whispered, “If your score is too good, the teacher will get suspicious.” [hook] That old fable of karma and retribution doesn’t exist in reality. To her, I was never a friend or accomplice — just an easy pawn to move. [chorus] Tiny soldiers fighting with their pens, stepping on the feet ahead with smiling faces. We can’t return to being children until the war called entrance exams is over. [outro] Back then I didn’t yet know, that even when the war ended, the hellish march would never stop. --------- prompt transparent and fragile female vocal, Japanese lyrics, emo and tense atmosphere, raw, sharp and restless energy, math rock and jazz rock fusion — dry and cutting clean guitar riffs mixed with jazzy chord voicings, punchy and gritty bassline with walking-jazz undertones, syncopated and edgy light percussion with subtle swing, steady 8-beat rhythm that feels like marching in an exam war, lo-fi raw recording texture, slightly distorted mix, chord progression: F – G – Am – Em repeating. The mood evokes children forced into soldiers of an exam war, with mechanical precision, claustrophobic tension, and ironic innocence — a battlefield where ○ and × become weapons, and smiling faces hide cruelty.
