Life Substance #32 - The Principle of Contrast.

V5

[Intro] [Verse 1] If everything round us was white, The eye would be lost in the glare. If all that we felt was just light, We wouldn’t know anything there. A mind needs a shadow to fall, To make every detail appear. For silence says nothing at all, Till contrast makes everything clear. [Chorus] The principle of contrast, the root of the mind, The law that allows us to see. Without the division, the spirit is blind, And life simply ceases to be. It separates sorrow from joy in the night, To wake up the soul to the light. [Verse 2] Perfection with nothing to lack, Would smother the stories we hold. We only see stars in the black, And only know warmth from the cold. The opposites open the door, Where feelings can learn and survive. Without them, the senses are poor, And nothing would know it's alive. [Chorus] The principle of contrast, the root of the mind, The law that allows us to see. Without the division, the spirit is blind, And life simply ceases to be. It separates sorrow from joy in the night, To wake up the soul to the light. [End]
