[Verse 1] He entered the room and told me firmly: "You need to pack your bag, right now" I just looked at him in disbelief I put down my coffee And took a seat While I stared at his face, Waiting to hear more "You have one hour," he said, "Be ready with your bag by the door" What's going on? I asked. Afraid of what he might say. [Pre-Chorus] Then he leaned in close So he knew I was listening He spoke three little words And the room flew away [Chorus] Paris tomorrow morning Paris tomorrow morning He caught my heart off guard (Paris tomorrow morning) We're taking the red-eye And the timing is perfect We'll both be together in... Paris tomorrow morning [Verse 2] At the airport waiting With my coat half-zipped I held my boarding pass Like a secret gift At the check-in counter We got a polite smile And my bag rolled past Off to a different place and time We shared a warm pastry By the gate window Watched the runway action Like an endless show He stole one kiss By the charging seats And he said, "Hold my hand When the cabin sleeps" [Pre-Chorus] on the plane, the wheels pulled back And the whole world leaned I watched my old life Fade like a dream [Chorus] We're taking the red-eye And the timing is perfect We'll both be together in... Paris tomorrow morning Paris tomorrow morning Paris tomorrow morning He caught my heart off guard (Paris tomorrow morning) [Bridge] Over the clouds His shoulder was my pillow The tray table down And his fingers in mine A little green tea And a tiny wrapped cookie The cabin light dimmed Like it knew it was our time He pointed below To the patchwork in the dark And whispered, "Wait till dawn babe That city's got spark" [Final Chorus] We're taking the red-eye And the timing is perfect We'll both be together in... Paris tomorrow morning Paris tomorrow morning Paris tomorrow morning He caught my heart off guard (Paris tomorrow morning) Paris tomorrow morning (Yeah we're waking up in Paris)
