[SONG META: Genre=Upbeat neo-soul | BPM=101 | Feel=crisp swung pocket | Key=A♭ major | Mood=bright, flirtatious, assured] [INTRO: A♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13 | bright Rhodes stabs, bass slide, shaker] [Female Voice: playful low register] I can make anything complicated—except this. [VERSE 1: A♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13 | rim click, muted guitar] I tried on seven different jackets, Changed my earrings at the door; Read the menu like a contract, Still ordered what I had before. I can turn a small decision Into half a working day; Then you walk in, kiss my forehead, And the noise gets out the way. [PRE-CHORUS: D♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13sus | bass climbs, harmonies answer] Blue or green, left or right, Take the taxi, miss the light; I may question every view, But I never question you. [CHORUS: A♭maj9–E♭/G–Fm9–Cm7–D♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13 | buoyant drums, bright stacks] It is easy as choosing you, One clean thing I know is true. When the whole world gives me twenty Different doors to wander through, I can laugh at my confusion; There is one thing I can do: Loving you is easy, Easy as choosing you. [VERSE 2: A♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13 | syncopated bass, guitar fills] At the market, I compare them— Every peach in every row; You just find the one that's ready, Hand it over: “Here you go.” I ask where we should have dinner; You say, “Anywhere you are.” That is terribly persuasive, And unfairly full of charm. [PRE-CHORUS: D♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13sus | harmony fans wider] Sweet or sharp, near or far, Which small table, whose new car; I may question every view, But I never question you. [BREAKDOWN: Fm9–Cm/E♭–D♭maj9–E♭13 | drums and bass only, call-and-response stacks] (Choose you) On the ordinary days. (Choose you) When I change my mind again. (Choose you) With the facts still incomplete. You are my favourite certainty. [BRIDGE: B♭m9–Cm7–D♭maj9–E♭13–Fm9–E♭/G–A♭maj9 | horns bloom, vocal climbs] Love is not a lucky answer; It is practice, it is proof. Every morning I decide it, And the answer stays with you. [Female Voice: agile ascending run into clean belt] [FINAL CHORUS: A♭maj9–E♭/G–Fm9–Cm7–D♭maj9–Cm7–B♭m9–E♭13 | full groove, counter-melodies] It is easy as choosing you, One clean thing I know is true. Let the whole world bring me twenty Different doors to wander through; I will meet them with a smile, Knowing what I came to do. [Female Voice: joyful belt, quick whistle flourish] Loving you is easy as choosing you. [OUTRO: D♭maj9–E♭13–A♭6/9 | band stop] Decision made.
