[Verse 1] You cast that line And they count that line Not just red or blue But the weight in between They keep a ledger They study the gap If the safe lane cracks They hear that crack [Pre-Chorus] Dependable votes Get filed away But a split in the field Can change the whole game [Chorus] Third party counts Third party counts Make them look our way Third party counts Third party counts Make them say our name When the old machine slips They feel that doubt Third party counts Third party counts [Verse 2] When a major party Loses by a breath They see that third block And they do the math That shortfall talks In every state So they borrow the words That you put in place [Pre-Chorus] Dependable votes Get filed away But a split in the field Can change the whole game [Chorus] Third party counts Third party counts Make them look our way Third party counts Third party counts Make them say our name When the old machine slips They feel that doubt Third party counts Third party counts [Bridge] Not a throwaway Not a side note Every ballot leaves A little smoke Take it seriously Watch them adjust When the numbers move They come to us [Final Chorus] Third party counts Third party counts Make them look our way Third party counts Third party counts Make them say our name When the old machine slips They feel that doubt Third party counts Third party counts
