[Verse 1] The engine of a purr revs deep in his chest A biological weapon in a fur-lined vest He’s stalking the perimeter of the master bed With visions of tuna dancing in his head! The shadows are heavy, the air is thick He’s faster than a bullet, he’s lethal and quick He scales the curtains like a mountain of glass Topping the bookshelf to watch the night pass! [Pre-Chorus] And you’re prayin’ for mercy, you’re prayin’ for sleep But he’s got a blood-oath that he’s gotta keep There’s a ceramic lamp at the edge of the shelf And he’s judge, he’s jury, he’s the devil himself! [Chorus] Like a cat out of hell He’ll be gone, gone, gone Before the morning comes Like a cat out of hell He’ll be gone, gone, gone Before the morning comes [Verse 2] I can see him in the dark, eyes like glowing emerald fire Tearing up the carpet, dragging souls through the mire He’s a phantom! He’s a rebel! He’s a king without a throne! And he’s chewing on the wires of your expensive telephone! C’mon! C’mon! Let the porcelain shatter! Let the kibble spray! He’s a masterpiece of carnage ’til the breaking of the day! [Chorus] Like a cat out of hell He’ll be gone, gone, gone Before the morning comes Like a cat out of hell Black bolt of lightning He’ll be gone, gone, gone Before the morning comes [Bridge] Then like a cat out of hell, he’ll be gone when the morning comes When the light hits the floor, he’ll be licking his paws and his thumbs But tonight is a riot, a symphony of screams He’s the nightmare lurking in the basement of your dreams! [Final Chorus] Like a cat out of hell! (He’ll be gone!) Black bolt of lightning! (He’ll be gone!) Like a cat out of hell! (He’ll be gone!) Before the morning comes...
