Why can't I escape this You say we're all to blame List a hundred reasons Stamp us with one name Doesn't matter what I tell you You've already walked away You came here with a slogan Not with truth that might sway It's the blanket effect Everything covered Nothing gets checked You don't see faces Just one big threat Pull that comfort over your head It's the blanket effect All of us tangled in threads you expect You don't hear hearts Just what you project Drown it out Lack of respect It's the blanket effect You say we're all the same Like that lets you off the hook Your outrage in a bottle Label peeled Empty look With no compass Still you lecture Every rant a cheap event Unhappy with your own mess So you stage Your own innocence It's the blanket effect Everything covered Nothing gets checked You don't see faces Just one big threat Pull that comfort over your head It's the blanket effect All of us tangled in threads you expect You don't hear hearts Just what you project Drown it out Lack of respect It's the blanket effect You fold us up Neat and flat Safe in the drawer of your black and white facts You call it truth I call it pretend You created a world that you can't defend (no!) It's the blanket effect Everything covered Nothing gets checked You don't see faces Just one big threat Pull that comfort over your head It's the blanket effect All of your anger Perfectly pressed You won't feel shame if you feel nothing left Pull it tight Call it correct It's the blanket effect It's the blanket effect Copyright © 2026 by The November Son.
