Life begins Life begins when you stand Life begins step into the shadow Life begins and listen Life begins when you turn the thought around Most people move through life the way they walk through a familiar room in the dark not because they know it but because they stopped noticing the walls Thoughts line up like quiet orders do this think that follow the crowd And we obey not because we’re sure but because we assume everyone else must be I lived that way too seeing the world like a half-empty glass not because it was but because I never questioned who taught me to measure it Then one night heavy silent my thoughts stopped asking permission And I realized something simple and unsettling Life begins Life begins when you stand Life begins step into the shadow Life begins and listen Life begins when you turn the thought around Every belief has an opposite Every truth has a shadow Every conviction has a door we rarely open We chase happiness without asking if we’re running the right way We claim to know ourselves while avoiding the mirror that shows more than a face We talk about following our hearts while letting routine hold the leash That room is dark and silent a confession tasting like old whisky But inside it for the first time you see the world as it could be Life doesn’t begin in the familiar chair everyone else sits on Life begins Life begins when you stand step into the shadow and listen Life begins when you turn the thought around Life begins when you turn the thought around
