Day 142 – Cornerstone Reborn (Shorts)

Verse 1 They said I was nothing but splinters and sand Unfit to be part of what they had planned Thrown aside with the cracked and worn But I’ve got a story that won’t stay torn I walked through fire with my name erased A life that looked like waste on waste But I heard a voice that won’t condemn— Said, “You’re not scrap, you’re part of them” --- Pre-Chorus I was the piece they cast aside But heaven laid me where grace would rise No builder called, no crew had come— But the Lord said, “You’re the one” --- Chorus The stone they tossed behind the gate Is holding up their heavy weight The one they said was broke beyond Is now the base they’re building on The Lord has done this, not by force— And it’s marvelous in our eyes --- Verse 2 (Condensed) I thought I had to shine, fit in line But grace takes scars and makes them shine So if they say you’ll never rise— Just wait until you’re lifted high --- Bridge (Alternate – Shortened) Laid in dirt, I saw no plan But He reached down with nail-scarred hands --- Final Chorus (Condensed) The stone they broke, the one they passed Now bears the load and holds it fast The Lord has done this—don’t disguise It’s marvelous in our eyes
