It is the nature of love To look upon only the truth For there it sees itself There it sees itself And there it would unite In holy union and completion It is the nature of love To look upon only the truth Love is attracted only to love Love is attracted only to love It sees itself And joins with what it sees Love is attracted only to love Love’s messengers are gently sent And gently they return With messages of love And messages of gentleness No little act of charity No tiny expression of forgiveness No little breath of love Escapes their notice And they return With all the happy things they found They bring them home To share them lovingly with you Love is attracted only to love Love is attracted only to love It sees itself And joins with what it sees Love is attracted only to love Love would set a feast before you On a table covered with a spotless cloth Set in a quiet garden Set in a quiet garden Where no sound but singing And a softly joyous whispering Is ever heard Is ever heard In a holy instant Grace is said by everyone together In a holy instant Everyone together As they join in gentleness Before the table of communion As they join in gentleness Together, together Love is attracted only to love Love is attracted only to love Love’s messengers are gently sent And return with messages of love Love is attracted only to love Love is attracted only to love And they return with all the happy things they found To share them lovingly with you It is the nature of love To look upon only the truth For there it sees itself In holy union and completion Love is attracted only to love Only to love Only to love
