[Verse] In the stillness we stand Hearts open wide Yearning for the fire that won't be denied The wind may be quiet The room may be still But we wait for the Spirit His power to fill [Chorus] Oh we tarry We tarry In faith we remain For the rushing of wind and the breaking of chains Just like the first time Let Your fire descend Holy Spirit ignite us On You we depend [Verse 2] The world keeps on turning The hours grow late But we won’t grow weary In this holy wait With hands lifted high And knees on the ground We listen for whispers That heavenly sound [Chorus] Oh we tarry We tarry In faith we remain For the rushing of wind and the breaking of chains Just like the first time Let Your fire descend Holy Spirit ignite us On You we depend [Bridge] Tongues of flame Hearts ablaze Fill this place anew Breathe Your power Breathe Your grace Lord we're waiting for You Pour it out Pour it out Let the heavens shake We are ready We are willing For Your kingdom's sake [Chorus] Oh we tarry We tarry In faith we remain For the rushing of wind and the breaking of chains Just like the first time Let Your fire descend Holy Spirit ignite us On You we depend
