Shiftin’ Gears & Shufflin’ Boots
[Intro — acoustic guitar and boot-stomp rhythm] [Checkered Flag — spoken] Alright, y'all, clear that floor! Grab somebody and bring 'em in! We're movin' freight tonight! [Band kicks in] [Verse 1] Clocked in early with the sunrise low Steel wheels humming in a row Denim shirt and a little bit of grit Got a full day's work and I'm ready for it Ain't no pasture underneath these wheels Just concrete, steel, and a whole lotta deals But when that whistle blows at the end of the day We shut that dock down and we dance away [Checkered Flag — spoken] Alright, pallet wranglers! Pull it off the rack! Back it in! [Chorus] We're shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Moving all night to a country groove Kick that corner, swing around Turn that load and don't slow down From the dock to the dance floor, we're ready to roll Got a little bit of country in a warehouse soul Shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Everybody move when the rhythm says move [Verse 2] Got my cowboy hat and my flannel on Last bit of daylight almost gone Somebody's got the radio turned up loud And there's enough good people to fill this crowd Don't need a horse when the wheels run steel Don't need a ranch to know how it feels You put in your hours, then you earn your night So grab that partner and hold on tight [Checkered Flag — spoken] Square that load! Two steps back! Bring it forward! Now swing it around! [Chorus] We're shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Moving all night to a country groove Kick that corner, swing around Turn that load and don't slow down From the dock to the dance floor, we're ready to roll Got a little bit of country in a warehouse soul Shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Everybody move when the rhythm says move [Dance Break — band drops to drums, bass and guitar] [Checkered Flag — spoken, calling the dance] Alright! Everybody line up! Pull it off the rack! Step left! Kick the corner! Step right! Back it into the slot! Swing that load! Spin that skid! And PARK IT! [Band hits hard] [Bridge] Ain't nobody checking what tomorrow brings Tonight we're just dancing with the radio ringing Concrete underneath us, country in our veins We worked all week, now we're breaking the chains [Checkered Flag — shouted] ONE MORE TIME! [Final Chorus] We're shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Moving all night to a country groove Kick that corner, swing around Turn that load and don't slow down From the dock to the dance floor, we're ready to roll Got a little bit of country in a warehouse soul Shiftin' gears and shufflin' boots Everybody move when the rhythm says move [Outro — band continues] [Checkered Flag — spoken] That's it, boys and girls! Park 'em where they stand! Same time next shift! [Final guitar riff]
