Jesus Christ Is Not Our Burden (David J. Wunderli) [Apr 2026]
A little boy with rocks in his pack, Felt the weight upon his back. But a picture of Jesus safe on top, Gave him strength at every stop. Jesus Christ is not our burden, He is our relief, our strength, our friend. When the weight is crushing down, He lifts us up from holy ground. We carry sorrows, we carry shame, We carry doubts that call our name. But He invites us, “Come to Me,” “My yoke is easy, walk with Me.” Jesus Christ is not our burden, He is our relief, our strength, our friend. When the weight is crushing down, He lifts us up from holy ground. Daily prayer and daily word, Covenants kept, His voice is heard. From weakness strong, from doubt to light, He walks beside us through the night. Young or old, wherever we roam, He is the way that leads us home. No rock too heavy, no storm too wide, In Christ we walk, in Christ we rise. Jesus Christ is not our burden, He is our relief, our strength, our friend. When the weight is crushing down, He lifts us up from holy ground. So let us lay our burdens at His feet, And feel the joy of walking free. Jesus Christ is not our burden, He is our relief — eternally.
