There is a town beyond the trees A couple of hours upstate Raucous cries will fill the skies Where the corvids congregate The people there are friendly folk And what they like best of all Is adorning their backs in feathers of black For the annual crow festival Oh, stay away from blackbird town And mark my earnest words If you seek murder, look no further That place is for the birds There's food and music, shows and games All in the avian theme Library books full of ravens and rooks An ornithologist's dream Relentlessly they carrion It's more than just a cash in Without pause, they for noble caws Pursue their birding passion Oh, keep well clear of blackbird town And the crows that they adore They won't arise to peck your eyes You'll just be really bored I came in search of death and blood But found just beaks and wings The only mystery I see Is why they hold these things The one bright spot in all this dark An unforeseen rapport On the prowl at a fair most fowl Lonely nevermore I shan't return to blackbird town It's not for me, I fear Their B&B will not see me Not for another year
