Dark clouds hangin' No sunshine in sight Crushing depression Weighin' heavy day and night Feelin' hopeless Lost in a sea of despair But this big band swing Gonna make you all aware Brass section wailin' Drums poundin' so loud But beneath the joyous sound Sadness wears a shroud Melancholy melody It's a bittersweet affair Dancin' in the darkness We don't even care Jazzin' in despair Swingin' these blues away Playin' with a smile But our hearts beggin' to stay Rhythm brings us solace In these troubled times Drownin' in the sadness But our souls still rhyme Jazzin' in despair Swingin' these blues away Playin' with a smile But our hearts beggin' to stay Rhythm brings us solace In these troubled times Drownin' in the sadness But our souls still rhyme Rhythm brings us solace In these troubled times
