[Intro] (Thick funky bassline groove, punchy brass horns blaring, a gritty rock drum beat kicks in with heavy energy) [Verse 1] The Cotswolds tent is open, the third season has begun The presenters take the stage tonight to chase the western sun They fly across the ocean to the famous Motown ground Detroit, Michigan, where the heavy V8 engines sound [Verse 2] The city streets are quiet, the old factories are bare But three ridiculous muscle cars are shaking up the air To bring the horsepower back into the automotive heart They start the roaring engines for a loud and crazy start [Verse 3] Jeremy Clarkson chooses drift, a dark and smoky line A Ford Mustang RTR with Spec 3 design Seven hundred horses from a supercharged V8 Ready to slide the urban streets and conquer every straight [Verse 4] And Richard Hammond brings the terror, a demonic German fighter The Hennessey Camaro Exorcist, making the dark night brighter One thousand horsepower hidden underneath the hood To banish all the evil thoughts like a heavy muscle should [Verse 5] But James May has the wild card, built for the dragway track The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, painted loud and black It has drag radial tires fitted and a single racing seat Built to lift the front wheels up upon the tarmac sheet [Verse 6] They drive through downtown Motor City, the exhaust notes are so loud Shaking all the windows, drawing out a local crowd Jeremy is smoking tires, doing donuts in the square Living out the petrol dream without a single care [Verse 7] The Exorcist is screaming, the supercharger whines Richard pushes the Camaro past the old industrial lines But the heavy clutch is brutal and the fuel runs very low Making the little Hamster sweat during the funky show [Verse 8] [Music hits a heavier rock groove with punchy horns] Now James is struggling with the Demon, it is way too hard to guide It wants to go in straight lines, refusing to turn or slide The drag tires are useless when the asphalt turns to clay Leaving Captain Slow behind, cursing all along the way [Verse 9] They find a massive structure, an old abandoned space The Packard Automotive Plant, a historic broken place The roof is falling down and the windows are all smashed Where the glory of the American car once brilliantly flashed [Verse 10] They build a crazy racetrack inside the concrete hall Driving through the narrow doors and brushing past the wall Jeremy is drifting fast, the Mustang clips the stone Throwing bricks and plaster while he’s racing all alone [Verse 11] The Exorcist is roaring through the darkness of the shed Spitting orange flames of fire, painting the concrete red Richard loves the madness of this indoor racing game Putting all the modern supercars to absolute deep shame [Verse 12] James May is crawling slowly through the tight and dusty bend Thinking that this urban track will make his vehicle end The Demon wasn't built to slide around a factory floor It belongs upon a drag strip, shouting out for more [Verse 13] They finish up the challenge with a high-speed urban race To see which modern muscle car can set the finest pace The Mustang drifts with beauty, the Camaro flies like jet The loudest Detroit symphony that you have ever met [Verse 14] Back inside the Cotswolds tent, the crowd is cheering loud At the beautiful American trip that made the trio proud They talk about the history of the legendary town Hoping that the Motor City never will go down [Verse 15] The conversation shifts into the Eboladrome zone Where the lap times of the muscle cars are carefully being shown The Mustang was a handful, the Camaro had the speed But the Demon on the public road is a crazy beast indeed [Verse 16] The tenth song is slowing down, the Motown funk is past The Exorcist and Demon proved that history was fast The traveling circus has kicked off another heavy year Leaving the Cotswolds studio with a triumphant cheer [Verse 17] So play the funky rock tonight and let the brass horns scream The high-speed Detroit special was a smoky V8 dream Three presenters bickering about a racing line The grandest tour is rolling on, everything is looking fine [Outro] (Epic funky guitar and bass solo, brass horns blaring high, heavy drum crescendo crashing, sound of a muscle car launching with a tire screech, final loud chord)
