[Intro] They say that He is coming, And the whole world holds its breath. Some are looking toward the heavens, Some are waiting for the end. But what if while we’re watching For the clouds to split apart, The Kingdom has been moving Quietly from heart to heart? [Verse 1] The first shall become the last, And the last shall become first. We learned the words so young But did we understand the verse? Are we waiting to be lifted While somebody else must burn? Do we need to be the chosen When the Holy One returns? Do I need to stand above them To believe that I am known? Do I love my neighbour freely, Or demand they become my own? Have I tied another’s worth To every doctrine I defend? If the Light plays no favourites, Where does “us and them” begin? [Pre-Chorus] Maybe we’ve been staring upward While He’s walking down the street. Maybe Heaven started rolling From the ones beneath our feet. [Chorus] The scroll is rolling up, Rolling from the bottom. The last are being gathered Where the world forgot them. Among the meek and weary, Among the cast aside, The Light is already here— Can you see Him passing by? The scroll is rolling up, Not a ladder to the sky. The last shall become first, And the first shall become last. Don’t wait for robes of glory, Don’t wait for trumpet sound. The Light is already here. Go and find Him on the ground. [Verse 2] Would you know Him without scarlet? Would you know Him without gold? If His coat were torn and weathered, If His hands were rough and cold? If He asked you for your kindness Instead of asking for your creed, Would you recognize the Saviour In the stranger with a need? He is serving with His people, With the humble and the poor, With the lonely and forgotten We have hurried past before. What if His returning Is a ministry unfolding? What if every act of mercy Is another page unrolling? [Pre-Chorus] You may ask, “How could I know Him? How could I know that this is true?” Maybe that’s the invitation: Let the searching start in you. [Bridge] First, sit with the breath. Let the noise become still. Do not chase an answer. Do not force the will. Find the love beneath the thinking, The love that asks no price, The love that does not rank you, The love that says, “You are Mine.” Rest there for a moment. Let compassion fill your sight. Seek with right intention: “Is He really here tonight?” Then listen with your heart. Look through the eyes of love. Not only toward the heavens— Look beside you, not above. [Breakdown] There— In the one you nearly walked past. There— In the face you learned to fear. There— In your sister and your brother. There— The Light is already here. And how can you know That stranger isn’t Him? How can you know? [Final Chorus] The scroll is rolling up, Rolling from the bottom. The ones the world called nothing— He has never once forgotten. The meek become our teachers, The stranger becomes kin, And every time we truly see them, We begin to recognize Him. The scroll is rolling up, And the invitation’s clear: You don’t have to wait for Heaven— The Kingdom may be here. Go gently toward each person. Leave your ranking at the door. The Light is already here, And there is always room for more. [Outro] Sit with the breath. Sit with the love. Open your heart. See without “above.” The first shall become last. The last shall become first. He is here among His people. Go and find Him. And meet your siblings Along the way. The Light is now here.
