Coyote - Sacred Laughter

(light drum pattern begins — uneven) Ohhh… You’re very serious now. (small chuckle in the voice) That’s how I know it’s time for me. (quick yip in the distance) I come when you think you’ve figured it out. When you’ve built a throne out of certainty. (drum skips, stops, resumes) Oops. (pause) Did you fall? (soft laugh — affectionate, not mocking) Good. (two quick yips, closer) I steal what you cling to. I loosen what you grip too tight. Not to harm you — (lower, warmer) but to keep you alive. (drum shifts rhythm) You call it chaos. I call it flexibility. (pause — then sudden clap or beat) If you can laugh at yourself, you can survive almost anything. (gentle breath) If you can’t… (short silence) Well. I’ll be back. (playful howl rises, then fades)
