[Chorus] I dont believe in so many things. I dont believe in an anthropomorphic deity. [Verse] We dont know everything, There are many unsolved mysteries. [Verse] Some things are easy to believe: The beauty and power of the sun, The nurturing mother Earth. The mysterious moon quietly watching, An infinity of winking stars. [Chorus] I dont believe in so many things. I dont believe in an anthropomorphic deity. [Hook] (I don't believe! I DON'T BELIEVE!) [Verse] I could believe - God is the sun, or God was the Earth. Water is alive, and life is proof of magic. Spirit is an amazing concept, too, Yet so far there is zero objective evidence of spirit. So until we discover facts on it, Can we agree that spirits are fantasy? [Bridge] Why do we have intuition and feeling, When reason and logic don't align? Could it be a sign? How does intuition work? (WHERE do IDEAS come from?) [Chorus] I dont believe in so many things. I dont believe in an anthropomorphic deity. [Verse] That's where I get stuck. The framework we live in today Is from old ideas from thousands of years ago, Which may never have made any sense at all. [Verse] Irrational ideas we still follow: We follow rulers and make wars, We don't share resources equitably, We allow a few people to control so much (WAY TOO MUCH!), We have secret organizations doing evil deeds? (Can anyone EXPLAIN why we CONTINUE to do THINGS that MAKE NO SENSE?) [Verse] We must stop the worst parts of ourselves, Or we will destroy ourselves! Maybe that's why we are here? A test if our rational minds can overcome fear-based self-preservation programming. [Hook] (I don't believe! I don't believe! I DON'T BELIEVE YOUR LIES!) [End]
