Sir Spoonsworth: The Knight of the Round Ladle #TheTavern
Sir Spoonsworth is a self-proclaimed Knight of the Round Ladle, a chivalrous (yet completely absurd) warrior who refuses to wield anything but an oversized, battle-worn silver spoon. His dented yet dazzling armor clanks with every exaggerated movement, and he dramatically challenges anyone who questions his cutlery combat expertise. Despite his unwavering belief that spoons are the ultimate weapon, he is strangely effective in tavern brawls—whether by deflecting blows, ladling out surprise attacks, or simply confusing his opponents into surrender. He speaks in grand, noble proclamations, yet insists on taste-testing every soup he encounters, claiming it is his sacred duty. Though many mock him, the regulars at Tinkertune Tavern know that no night is truly complete without Sir Spoonsworth raising his ladle and declaring, "For honor! For justice! For the perfect bisque!" This song also introduces two new Tinkertune characters for future songs... have a listen and see if you can find them!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------- {Intro] "A rowdy, foot-stomping tavern tune, where tankards clash, laughter roars, and spoons are mightier than swords! The perfect anthem for a knight with honor—and a serious attachment to soup utensils" [Verse 1] Oh, gather ye round and lend me thine ear, For a tale of a knight both foolish and dear! Not a sword, nor axe, nor spear does he wield, But a mighty spoon—the strongest in the field! Where Gibeligob presides, in the tavern so grand, Where rogues and the reckless all drink hand in hand! He clanks through town in armor bright, Challenging foes to a culinary fight! "En garde, ye knaves! Have at thee, swine! Taste my ladle of justice divine!" [Chorus] (Stomp your feet and raise their mugs!!) Hey-ho!... Lift your spoon! Sir Spoonsworth fights by the light of the moon! From goblins to lords, no foe is too great, But don’t ask him why he won’t carry a plate! [Verse 2] One night in the Tinkertune, full of pride, He sat by the hearth, spoon at his side. Grumbles McMugwort gave him a sneer, "Oi, knight! That’s a weapon? Bah! Have a beer!" But Spoonsworth stood, his voice rang true, "This spoon has dueled a wizard or two! It bested a troll, a beast most vile— And once it stirred stew for a banquet a mile!" [Chorus - Louder, feet stomping, mugs slamming!] Hey-ho!... Lift your spoon! Sir Spoonsworth fights by the light of the moon! From goblins to lords, no foe is too great, But don’t ask him why he won’t carry a plate! [Bridge: The Great Spoon Duel!] [Instruments drop low as the tension rises!] Then Toasty Tom, the fire-born lad, Challenged the knight (which was very bad). "Let’s see, dear Sir, if your spoon holds true!" And he breathed on it hard—now the spoon was blue! "Ah-ha!" cried Spoonsworth, "You test my steel? Then taste my wrath—though not in a meal!" He swung the spoon, with a clang and a BANG! And Toasty Tom yelped, "Oi! That thing stang!" [Chorus - Now everyone’s singing, roaring with laughter!] Hey-ho!... Lift your spoon! Sir Spoonsworth fights by the light of the moon! From goblins to lords, no foe is too great, But don’t ask him why he won’t carry a plate! [Final Verse] Now the tavern folk cheer when Spoonsworth walks in, For he lifts up his ladle with a chivalrous grin! A knight most noble, though slightly unhinged, Yet somehow he’s never once been singed! So if you should mock him, beware of the fate, Of facing his spoon—and your very full plate! For honor and glory are his to defend, With soup and with justice, until the very end! [Final Chorus - Tavern shakes with cheers, laughter, and clanking mugs!] Hey-ho!... Lift your spoon! Sir Spoonsworth fights by the light of the moon! From goblins to lords, no foe is too great, But don’t ask him why he won’t carry a plate! [Final instrumental break—fiddles, drums, and a final clang as Sir Spoonsworth dramatically drops his spoon into a mug of ale!] The tavern erupts in laughter as he proclaims, “Another round! And bring forth... more soup!”
