[Instrumental Intro: Didgeridoo (B, quiet, endless), soft percussion, shushing]

[expressive spoken intro]
Outback sun, dust in the air.
Grandfather kneels at a spot so bare.
He listens close where the earth is dry,
Searching for water beneath the sky.
---
Grandson frowns, looks around instead:
"Grandpa, here? It looks the same
As every other place, no change, no claim."
---
Grandfather smiles, puts a hand to the ground:
"Listen, my boy, to the quietest sound.
The earth will tell us, if we wait and hear.
A whisper of water, so soft, so clear."

The earth gives in, the water flows.
All harmonies rise, the Outback glows.
